Catching Up

I have good intentions. I tell myself to post each day so I don't forget the things we do, what the kids say, etc...but reality is that I just can't do it. I find pockets of quiet time and that is when this happens, either this or sleep...and most days I have to choose sleep.

This week has been good and full! Monday we had a planning meeting for my Mom's group at church in the morning and a water play date in the afternoon. Keith was on call all weekend and Monday so he made it home around bedtime. Tuesday we went to Pump It Up since it was "suppose" to rain, of course it did not rain until after we got done there. Then we went to McDonald's to play and have lunch and of course following that I felt like we all needed a bath. So many germs...the little girl that peed on the slide that day really freaked me out, especially when I mentioned it to the people that worked there three times and they didn't care. Nice! Wednesday we had another meeting at church and then our first summer music class. It was fun, the first hour is just the kids and then we do a craft together the last 15 minutes or so. I enjoyed a nice lunch at church with friends--it was an unexpected treat! Wednesday evening I don't remember so that must have been lots of fun too. Thursday we went to a concert in the park (photos posted earlier), then gave the kids a "free" snack at Costco. Dropped Keith's car off for a THIRD time to have the breaks looked at, these are the breaks we replaced right after Harper was born...still not good...and yes, they STILL squeak after picking up the car again last night. Then we went to "Chick-Play" as my kids call it for lunch...lots of eating out this week...this followed by a nap for Carson and then lots of water activities for the kids. It was not even that warm out, but they had to do it. They are crazy. Then today we went and got a "surprise" for Daddy for Father's Day, that took most of the morning, and now all are napping and the house is peaceful.

The house is going to get even more peaceful after Keith gets off work as he is going to head to Wichita for his 20th High School Reunion (yes, he is gettin' old ;-). I have waffled on going for a bit, but I don't know these people and really I am so far behind on other projects, some that are due on Monday, I best stay home and do those. I will miss out on seeing Addilyn our new niece and that makes me sad too...but the idea of getting some alone time with Harper trumps all of the guilt I think. This weekend will be my first time ever alone with Harper. I can't wait! I think we should start the weekend off with a long nap......I think she will like that...
