Well, it was a long day....but better than we had expected and we made it. It was only 54 degrees last night when we got in, brrr! I was not prepared for that. It is only mid 70's today and beautiful.
Our first leg of our flight the boys sat together and we sat with Harper and everyone behaved...we didn't know who our children were or how that happened but it was a good thing! We had lots of treats and entertainment and learned that Harper loves twizzlers.
The second half, well the little people were DONE, and really I don't blame them it was nearly 1AM our time by the time we got to my parents house. Harper did sleep on this leg but only after a big crying fit and a cranky woman who must not have children glaring at me. It is a good thing I had some sanity left or I think I would have said something to her. The looks and head shaking, really...I am sorry I interrupted your quiet "kindle" time. And about half way on the second flight Davis said if it is going to take much longer I want to go home. Well buddy...that ain't how it works. And then he said is it going to take this long to get home too? Uh...yes???
So we arrive and my Mom tells me she had been in the ER all night the night before with my Dad, then the crazy woman went to work for a bit and then back to get us. Dad is to have surgery on Wed, but now has a fever and might need to go back to the ER now. Gall Bladder stuff, nothing overly serious, but he is in a lot of pain and needs to get this done now I think.
In other news...Keith and I went to get our eyes checked this AM. Doesn't everyone fly several states away to go to the eye doctor? Yes, we do! Strange...but no change so that is good. While we were gone my kids were having cereal. They had spilt some and were cleaning it up with the vacuum. Seems good, right? Well...we return for the eye Dr only to find them vacuuming their BOWLS of cereal up, the ones they were eating from with milk....so instead of putting them in the sink to clean, they vacuumed them clean. Creative and resourceful...maybe, but oy I think I am gonna have to go get the Monga a new vacuum!
