The tide was out and so what if the kids have been playing hard on the beach all day we were gonna walk to Haystack Rock....it is only a mile....or so....down the beach from where we were. The sun was going down and the wind was picking up and everyone was tired. Doesn't a long walk sound like a good idea to you? (I hope you are picking up on the sarcasm.) So the walk begins. Harper hanging out of her car and dragging a hand or a foot the whole way. Monga not really wanting to do this since I drug her out there the day before...but darn it I was gonna take the kids on the rock or bust.
Davis was game. He and his kite (which needs a nickname since it was attached to him most of the time we were there) came along. Eventually Keith talked him into putting it away so he could check out the stuff on the rock.
And after much whining we arrived. Keith was pondering running back and getting the car b/c my peeps were a bunch of cranky weenies at this point. But again, we are at the beach and we are gonna have fun damn it.
Due to the need for one of them needing to be carried there were no pictures taken on the rock. Davis did really enjoy it and even stayed longer with his Dad when Monga and I went to take the little two back. It is pretty cook that you can see so many sea anemones and starfish up close. As well as mussels and crab. I don't know how many monoliths there are in water, but this is the only one I have been to, and I know it is one of the (3rd maybe?) tallest monoliths in the ocean.
No, I am not pregnant. This is my sleeping Harper, note the lighter green head. She rode in the hoodie papoose all the way back to the room. As for her car....
We then went to Mo's and got a seafood buffet for take out and enjoyed it in our room. I didn't think I was gonna get the kids to go anywhere with me again after this.
