The House 2.0

We are pretty much done with the work on the house from the storm on 4/3. We are very happy with how things turned out. We have gotten lots of compliments from neighbors...either it was well past time to clean up the house (it was) or they really like it. Probably a little bit of both!

We had the garage doors faux finished. The crazy insurance people didn't pay to replace them (we had done that two years ago from other damage) so we just did the one really bad panel and the paint covers things up pretty well after that.
The paint colors are Pier (body) and Sawdust (trim) from SW. We also pulled out two of the damaged trees by the front, looks a lot better. Thinking of pulling the magnolia too...but will take time to talk Keith into a fountain I think. I also think we are going to add some of the stone next to the garage doors about 3 feet up on each side, maybe in the fall or spring when I am motivated to deal with that.
The playset looks a lot better, we need to order some new swings and rock holds for the rock wall.
And we trimmed out the house all the way around, something that people don't seem to do a lot of out here. Looks a lot better that way. Of course it also highlights our lack of imagination in the backyard...but maybe next year we will figure that out. If you want to design us something, we are taking ideas!
Another shot of the back
And of the doors.
And the front, so different without the forest we had there.

Painting with Jeni

Jeni stopped by to drop off a few things just as we were getting ready to paint. She got sucked in.

The paint is food coloring, water and cornstarch. Works great and it entertains for a long time!

Bye Grandma and Grandpa!

Carson scratched his ankle. I am sure it hurt, but this kid cries a lot...

This picture is so funny...

Bob and Betty came to see the kids this weekend since they won't see them for awhile. You saw the pictures of Betty and the kids...but in case anyone wondered where Grandpa Bob was...that is him in the car ready to go!

Monkey Business--Anna's Birthday

For the first time Davis tried the rock wall, and he did great!

All the kids had a great time at Anna's birthday party Saturday. I wish I had more pictures, Harper had a total meltdown and was a mess by the time we left. She didn't sleep well the night before and it all caught up with her.

Franklin Park and Winsteads-June 21st

We went to Franklin Park again, this time with Daddy. I think it might be my new favorite park in town. Worth the drive to have all that shade! Afterward we stopped at what might be the oldest Winsteads. The kids ate...but I don't think we will be stopping back by again..

Joe's Sand Box

The patio at Joe's is another peaceful place. Davis spent a lot of time collecting rocks...
..and filling his socks. I don't know why but they are full of rocks here at home too...I guess if he ever gets stuck in jail he will have a weapon ready to go.

Leaping Lizards--that girl can climb anything!

I did not think she could do this. She proved me wrong.
The bars are easy for her to do, the blocks not as much...but she worked it out.

Leaping Lizards is the best bouncy house in town I think. Almost relaxing...we will be back!

BUBBLES with Cole!

Two of Betsy's kids spend the day with us on Monday, not sure if Cole likes me or not....but when he left I got a hug. After being ignored all day maybe I am alright after all...

Bocce Basement

Miller Lite and Chocolate Cake...yum? Happy Birthday, Tammy!

Apparently everyone likes to watch Keith. I only seemed to take pictures of him...
Mad skills?
Performing? Dancing with Tammy? So not sure...
The other lane.
Tammy may have had the most fun...she got Keith to wear Betsy's shoes to play in.
He can still roll in heels.

HOPE carnival and concert for Braden

The bubbles were a big hit!

Harper's first tattoo...I think end count was 8.
Fish, pish. Check out her ink.

Bean Bag Toss..she is kind of a cheater.
He is not a cheater.
Back to the balloons. Braden's favorite.
Peanut Butter Hamster wanted volunteers.
Two of the kids went. Then Harper ran away. Then Carson chickened out before he sang.
Davis and Carson played the "sucker" game a lot. They said they were their bets customers.
Nail painting with Daddy.
Deliece, Braden and Mr. PB Hamster.
